Wilke walks away with series debut at Norman County

ADA, Minn. (June 8, 2023) – A new era of Sprint Car racing in the Red River Valley got underway on Thursday night at Norman County Raceway with the first event for the Superior Customs Red River Sprint Series.

A modest field of six cars were checked in with Brandon Rekow and heat winner Tye Wilke on the front row for the 12-lap feature.

As the green flag flew, Wilke took the lead exiting turn two and pulled away from Rekow.

Rekow, Morgan Nyquist, Andy Pake, and Ty Hanten all battled for second through fifth behind Wilke.

Wilke quickly opened up a full straightaway lead around the three-eighths mile oval and never looked back. The driver out of Detroit Lakes, Minn. checked out and picked up the win by an impressive 7 seconds.
